Training as a Natural Voice Practitioner
The Network plans to eventually set up some form of modular certificated training, however this is some considerable distance away, as it requires a good deal of funding and person input. We are still a very young set up with as yet only one very part time paid admin person.
Frankie Armstrong, one of the most experienced of our practitioners and her partner Darien Pritchard (a massage, Feldenkrais/flexibility and relaxation teacher) run a residential annual Voice Training and Resources week at Kinnersley Castle in Herefordshire. In fact, the Network initially grew out of reunions held by participants of these trainings.
Frankie and Darien's training week is a very good grounding in the principals of "natural voice" teaching and is the closest thing we have at the moment to an "official" training. Many of our practitioners have been "Kinnersley" participants at one time or another.
Details of the Voice Training and Resources week can be found in the Events section (see menu on the left of this page.), under NVPN Training Events. You can register your interest at any time by writing to Frankie and Darien at 45, Cecil ST, Cardiff, C F 24 1NW or look at details at http://www.frankiearmstrong.com/vtraining.html
"Carry it On" is a residential skills training, support and networking weekend aimed at less experienced singing and voice teachers and more seasoned practitioners in need of nourishment. Previous participants in the longer training (above) are welcome. The "Carry it On" weekend is also held at Kinnersley Castle (see Events section - under NVPN Training Events - for dates). Again, register your interest at any time by writing to Frankie Armstrong, (address above) or contacting the network's administrator (contact email above).
Information on Kinnersley Castle can be found at http://www.kinnersleycastle.co.uk.
