Joining the Natural Voice Practitioners Network

The only requirements for membership are that you are either a natural voice practitioner or working towards becoming one and that your approach to teaching voice and song is in harmony with our philosophy and working principles and our Code of Practice.

The aim of the Network is to provide members with support, training and development opportunities. Although we are still a fairly new organisation, membership is growing steadily and we now have about 260 members.

Membership benefits (or what you get for your money)

- Networking opportunities;
- Access to network events, including the network's Annual Gathering in January;
- Regularly maintained website with password access for members to add their own events, singing groups, cd's and books for sale;
- Free public and products liability insurance cover up to £10 million (for members residing in the UK only);
- Option of a free naturalvoice email address;
- Newsletter;
- Option to have your own individual webpage at our website;
- Membership administration;
- On-line Members' forum.

Membership fees

Membership is on a self-selecting sliding scale of £25 - £60 (£20 for overseas members).  As a guideline, we suggest you pay the minimum of £25 if your gross income (turnover) is less than £5000 pa and the maximum of £60 if you earn more than £10,000 pa.  Overseas membership is £20, since the benefits are fewer.
To help you decide what to pay we suggest the following:
Earnings up to £5000: annual membership rate £25
Earnings up to £7,500: annual membership rate £35
Earnings up to £10,000: annual membership rate £45
Earnings above £10,000: annual membership rate £60
Note: "earnings" means turnover, not net profit.
Membership runs from April 6 to April 5 the following year.

Current projects

The first committee was elected at our fundraising Festival of Song in London in November 2000 and since then we have been busy developing ideas for future work. Current projects include:
- Planning the Annual Gathering;
- Developing a Code of Practice for the NVPN;
- Developing the website;
- Producing a regular newsletter;
- Planning training events for members.
