Hannah Rose Tristram

What I’ve been up to

Hannah Rose Tristram has been singing, song-collecting and performing around the world from the age of ten, with world music choirs Village Harmony and Northern Harmony. She trained in Actor Musicianship at Rose Bruford College, and has participated in a wide range of amateur and professional theatre productions. Since training with Frankie Armstrong in April 2008, she has enjoyed working closely alongside her, at vocal events across Wales, France and London - as well as running The Breath of Life Singers and various other workshops in West Sussex. Hannah is also a multi-instrumentalist, and works professionally as an accordionist, flautist, singer and performance poet. Hannah also has skills with harp, guitar, recorder, percussion, baroque flute, music theory and composition.

Dance and movement are also very important to Hannah, and are an important part of her approach to voice work. She has a wide range of movement experience, including contact improvisation, Alexander technique, yoga, Chantraine, morris dance, belly dance, authentic movement, circle dance, contemporary dance, various healing arts, and traditional dances from Africa, the Balkans, Caucasus Georgia, England and the USA.
Hannah has a foundation training and various deepening trainings in Non Violent Communication (also known as Compassionate Communication) – which gives tools that encourage empathy, connection and harmony. Hannah enjoys present-moment living, and believes that dancing/moving and singing/sounding are human rights and joys.
