Heart&Soul Singing Workshops
I’m a trained musician
and composer based in Ben Rhydding, near Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
Singing in harmony with others
is my passion – the musical milieu where I can be myself and where
I can feel a sense of soulful connection with others.
I aim to share the joy of
singing in harmony with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Participants may have experience of singing with others. Often
participants have no previous singing experience and some may have been
actively discouraged from singing in the past.
At present I combine my Singing
Workshops for adults with working part-time at my children’s
Primary School teaching Music and leading Key Stage 2 singing sessions.
I am available to lead
individually tailored singing workshops to suit different groups of
people:
*An evening of singing for you
and your friends in your home
* A teambuilding experience
through song for your staff
*Community-building through
song for your local W.I. group, M.U. group and other church, community
and school groups.
Heart&Soul Saturday Singing Workshops take place in
St. John’s Church Hall, Ben Rhydding.
These are one-off day workshops, starting at 10.30am with a break for
lunch at 1pm and finishing at 3.30pm.
These
workshops are as inclusive as possible – after some gentle physical
and vocal warm-ups, songs are taught without sheet music in ways that are
enjoyable so that they can be learnt by ear. My hope is to inspire
participants and send them home with a song in their hearts!

Groups:

Heart&Soul Singers: an informal singing group that meets every 1st
and 3rd Monday of the month, during term time, 7.30pm - 9pm at
St. John’s Vicarage, Ben Rhydding.

Heart&Soul Weekly Singing Sessions: Every Friday, during term time, 1pm – 2.30pm, £5 per
session in The Lounge, St. John’s Church, Ben
Rhydding.

Ben Rhydding Community
Choir meets
monthly on a Saturday morning, 10am – 12pm in the Hall, St. John’s Church, Ben Rhydding
This year (2011/12) we are
“Singing for Matugga” to raise
awareness and funds for the orphans of The Revival Centre, Matugga,
Uganda.

Heart&Soul Singing Retreat
at Parcevall
Hall, Appletreewick, N. Yorks.

opportunity to relax in the beautiful surroundings of Parcevall
Hall and discover the joy of singing in harmony with others.
Cost: £130 including all meals
Participants
do not need to read music as the songs will be learnt by ear. This is a
thoughtful and inclusive approach to singing with others, which aims to
inspire you and send you home with a song in your heart!
