Cream Tea Concert with Far Cry Acapella

09 Jul 2023

2 pm—4.30 pm

The Cowshed, West Slaithwaite

Join Far Cry Acapella and singer/songwriter Carol Hodge for an afternoon of inspirational music, tea, and home-made cakes in the intimate setting of The Cowshed near Slaithwaite.

Far Cry is a Huddersfield-based mixed acapella group singing songs from a range of different cultures – led by Musical Director Jenny Goodman.  The end result is a unique mix of great singing with stunning, unusual harmonies and impressive versatility.  Far Cry will be singing their usual eclectic mix of folk songs from around the world including local anthems, original material and the occasional pop classic – all in glorious unaccompanied harmony

Yorkshire lass, singer-songwriter Carol Hodge is a musical dichotomy.  With her roots and ethics firmly set in punk, as keyboard player and long-term collaborator with Crass frontman Steve Ignorant, Carol is also a uniquely gifted songwriter and is able to conjure up beautiful pop-infused, heart-wrenching melodies as well as challenging authority and injustice.  Her 2021 single Moan Of A Thousand Years was awarded Track Of The Week by Classic Rock magazine readers and she toured  across the UK and USA throughout 2022.

Tickets are £12/£10 concessions to include a delicious cream tea.  Limited seating available – book in advance!
