Under One Sun!

22 Apr 2023

10 am—4 pm

at Canton Uniting Church in a buzzing district of central Cardiff.

A day of singing songs for Earth Day from the African continent to the Caribbean with Molara and Mary-Anne Roberts.

These two talented singing leaders will take you on a heart-warming singing journey to celebrate Earth Day. Molara will be sharing songs of joy and peace from the continent of Africa and beyond and Mary-Anne will share songs sung by her aunties and Grandma as they carried out their daily tasks in rural Trinidad. Expect to move and to be moved!

Molara is an inspirational singer, songwriter, performer & artist whose maternal grandfather was a founder member of the George Formby Society, whilst her father’s cousin was the infamous Fela Kuti. She was a founder member of Zion Train and has worked with Femi Kuti, Baka Beyond, Mad Professor and Ruts DC. She started One Voice choir in 2005 to celebrate her love of international harmonies & rhythms & was a founder of Narberth Acappella Festival.

Mary-Anne Roberts-O’Reilly is a freelance artist/performer who has lived in Wales since 1990. She was born and grew up in Trinidad and Tobago and teaches and performs through the prism of Trinidad Carnival traditions, even when performing with the thrillingly compelling early music duo Bragod who perform throughout Wales and for international audiences.
