The Beach Boys are perhaps the most influential of all modern vocal harmony groups. They formed in 1961 as a garage band centered on Brian Wilson’s songwriting. Sadly, Brian died in June 2025. Learn a range of different Beach Boys songs, all arranged especially for voice only. There will also be opportunities to explore the local area and relax.
You need to be an experienced harmony singer to attend this weekend. Pop song workshops are not for complete beginners!
Cliff College is situated on the outskirts of the village of Calver, in the beautiful Peak District National Park. The site is just below Curbar Edge and next to the River Derwent. All rooms are en-suite and have a television and drink-making facilities. Free WiFi and parking are available on site. There are plenty of excellent walks in the area, and you will have time on Saturday afternoon to explore. Although the venue is a Christian theological college, the weekend will be secular and open to all, regardless of religious beliefs. However, there is no smoking or alcohol allowed on site. There are several pubs within walking distance. The weekend includes all meals, tuition, and tea/ coffee breaks.
The Beach Boys had a career that spanned some four decades. With a legacy of Top 10 hits that stretches from Surfin’ U.S.A. (1963) all the way to Kokomo (1988). This weekend is an opportunity to learn a range of different Beach Boys songs.
