As walking involves more than the feet, listening involves more than the ears. When the whole self is listening, we have set the stage for improved aural perception.
What can you do to improve your own hearing? How can you listen more effectively, get more joy out of music, be more at home in nature, and take better care of this precious window on the world?
On the 14 & 15 November, David Kaetz, a Canadian Feldenkrais Musician, will give a two-day workshop on how to listen to the sounds of music, and nature through the awareness of sound and resonance in our bodies.
David’s book ‘Listening With Your Whole Body’ is an informative and mind broadening approach to how we listen and perceive sound through our bodies. In this workshop he shows us how we hear and perceive the joyous sounds around us, so we can park the cacophany of sound that gets in the way of how to listen with presence.
As we listen in this way, we can receive the joy of music, and the vibrancy of nature, and in the process take better care of our precious capacity to listen in this beautiful world we live in.
This invitation is extended to those who wish to improve and protect their hearing, as well as those for whom the auditory sense is the centre of their professional and personal lives: therapists, musicians, actors, teachers, parents, partners, and others.
To find out more, email Anne at movingtone@gmail.com, and I will send you more information and the link to register for the workshop.
