We have been meeting every week and tuning in with the season.
Who arrives here preparing to raise their voice?
Is all of you here too? Is all of you available?
Do you sing with all of your heart, all of your pain, alll of your questions, all of your presence?
Who will show up this week? We prepare the vessel and clear it to receive and transmit (and perhaps/probably channel).
Our sessions begin with a grounding, sounding, toning, and tuning up.
I work with the Werbeck and Kodály music pedagogy, generally.
This involves body, breath, soul, and sometimes spirit.
Repertoire is the least ambitious portion of the session, knowing that if we are connected and regulated, that all material will be easily accessed and learned.
After the warm-up this week, we will aim to learn another juicy something, following last week’s exploration of EARTH’S CHILD (Emily Roblyn) as joyous preparation in 4 voices for the flashmob on Monday 22 April (“Earth Day”). We usually conclude with a cool-down.
Yes this is a co-regulatory trauma-informed experience/practice!
