I run Crystal’s Choir – a Bantry-based community choir singing traditional polyphonic world songs.
I am a community musician, singer-songwriter, and creative facilitator based in West Cork. My work centres on creating inclusive spaces where music brings people together, nurtures creativity, and encourages authentic self-expression.
I direct Crystal’s Choir, a community choir in Bantry that explores traditional polyphonic songs from around the world. I also run singing and music workshops with people of all ages and abilities – including children, adults of all abilities, and community groups – weaving in harmony, improvisation, and collaborative songwriting.
I hold a Master’s degree in Community Music from the Irish World Academy, with additional training in music therapy, eco-ritual practices, and arts-based global citizenship facilitation. My approach blends gentle facilitation, play, and deep listening, while integrating other creative practices like movement, storytelling, and nature-based art.
As a neurodivergent artist, I am passionate about building welcoming spaces where all voices are valued, and singing is reclaimed as a communal, joyful, and empowering practice.
Alongside my facilitation work, I write and perform original music both as Julia and the Sea and as part of Of River and Sea.
