Friendly singing group aiming to promote peace and social cohesion. Free of charge and open to all.
Sing for Peace, Petersfield meets to sing together as a community to promote peace (inner and outer), social cohesion and environmental care. Singing is embedded in the traditions of almost every culture. Our ancestors sang together to celebrate, commiserate, resolve disputes and strengthen bonds. Singing together can soothe the nervous system, regulate breathing and help body and mind to feel more peaceful.
Sing for Peace, Petersfield meets from 11am to 12 noon on the first and third Sundays of the month (apart from August and December). The group is open to everyone and free of charge (donations towards costs are welcome but not necessary).

We are friendly singing group which meets from 11am to 12 noon on the first and third Sunday of each month (apart from August and December). We sing together to promote peace (inner and outer), social cohesion and environmental care. We sing well-known songs, seasonal songs, simple rounds, folk songs and songs inspired by nature.
There’s no requirement to come every time and no experience is necessary. There’s no audition, no sheet music, no pressure, no commitment, no such thing as a wrong note, but a space for us to get together and sing. We are an open and inclusive group so whatever your age, sound, background, identity or experience, you are welcome.
Singing together can soothe the nervous system, regulate breathing and help body and mind to feel more peaceful. The sessions last for one hour and are free of charge (donations towards room hire and running costs are welcome but not necessary). It’s fine to move around or stop and listen, or harmonise or improvise – whatever works for you.
