I run friendly and informal group singing sessions free of charge and open to all
I have sung in groups long enough to know how much singing with others improves health and wellbeing. I also know how much we need local communities meeting in person, and singing together is a great way to bring a sense of connection. Singing is embedded in the traditions of every culture. Our ancestors sang together to celebrate, commiserate, resolve disputes and strengthen bonds. Group singing can also soothe the nervous system, regulate the breathing and help both body and mind to relax and feel calm.
Our group Sing Your Way meets at 11am on Sunday mornings in central Petersfield. It’s open to everyone regardless of age, ability, experience and it’s free (donations towards costs are welcome but not necessary).
All questions welcome! For more information please email me: zoeflint11@gmail.com
We are not a choir but an informal and friendly group which meets on the first and third Sundays of each month. There’s no requirement to come every time, it’s fine to drop in when you can. We sing songs you may well know already, seasonal songs and simple rounds, folk songs and songs inspired by nature/culture.
No experience necessary, no audition, no sheet music, no pressure, no commitment, no such thing as a wrong note, just a space for us to get together and sing (or hum, or tap). Singing together can reduce stress, lift the mood and cultivate a sense of community and connection. We are an open and inclusive group, whatever your age, sound, background, identity or experience, you are welcome.
The singing sessions last for one hour and are free of charge (donations towards room hire and running costs are welcome but optional). It’s fine to move around or stop and listen or harmonise or improvise – anything goes.
