I’m a singer songwriter and song interpreter working since the early 90s on the Irish, UK and European folk circuits with my husband in a duo – Fil and Tom. I have been coaching singers for over 20 years.
I believe in singing being available for everyone – we can all sing if we can talk. To that end I run community choirs and workshops throughout the year to give people the experience of singing together and exploring their own voices in safety.
After several years of teaching singing in local schools and taking kids through exams, around 15 years I changed to working exclusively with adults who were told they can’t sing on a one-to-one basis and then in group settings.
Singmarra is an all-inclusive choir with no audition process – no experience or expertise needed to join. We specialise in helping adults find their voice and use their voice for fun and well being. We do a couple of performances a year – at Christmas and during the local festival in the summer – and do occasional performances and workshops for the senior groups in the area.
New members are always welcome and drops in are also welcomed – if you’re in the area on holiday do come and sing with us – it’ll lift your heart.
