Additional information

I have always known that singing is much more than “entertainment”. It is a profound experience of personal expression of beliefs and   belonging and appreciation.  The songs I teach have to have meaning for me. This springs  initially from singing as a child brought up a Catholic and singing in Church services, where each song had its place in the liturgy and differed according to the church’s year.  Then singing powerful songs at Greenham Common  to keep us together and calm, to express our feelings about the nuclear threat, to  keep spirits high.

I have worked extensively as a musician in healthcare settings  and with pre-school children and parents (including during their pregnancy).

Latterly I have been running natural voice choirs and an informal pop-up group for climate crisis events and demos.

I now just run one informal drop-in singing group, doing uplifting songs and songs about the earth and our communities and celebrating different cultures around the world.
