Non audition Community Choirs and Well-being Choirs in workplace settings in Northern Ireland
I love to bring the community together through singing. My weekly non-audition Community Choirs are in Belfast, Ballymena and Antrim in Northern Ireland.
In addition to Community Choirs, I work in numerous workplace settings, bringing colleagues together to sing to promote well-being. I also work with people with an acquired brain injury through the charity Brain Injury Matters and am involved with a research programme for mums and babies at Queens University Belfast.
My choirs are non-audition and non-religious. We sing songs from lots of different genres, from pop to folk. I enjoy arranging and writing songs for us to sing as well as singing songs by other NVN leaders.
In addition to my own choir leading, with my colleague Tembre de Cartaret, I run a programme for people wishing to train as choir leaders called Weaving Voices.
Antrim Community Choir is a vibrant and welcoming choir in Antrim town. This fun and inclusive choir has been singing together for over ten years.
The choir has grown up performing in many interesting places in Northern Ireland. They have commemorated Suffragettes with a wonderful musical play, performed with established musicians here in NI, raised money for many charities and have just completed a story telling and song writing project in the Glens of Antrim.

Wednesday Evenings during term time 19.15 - 21.15
This wonderful group of singers meet every Friday morning from 10.30 – 12. Come along and hear their beautiful voices, better still, join in!
Many of the choir members have confided in me how welcome they felt when they came along to this group.
Everybody and every voice is welcome. We have no auditions to join and do not use sheet music as all songs are taught by ear. We sing a mix of music from pop to folk and music especially written for community choirs.
Friday mornings during term time 10.30 - 12pm
Come and sing with Ormeau Community Choir; a wonderful welcoming group of singers. Everybody and all types of voices are welcome! No audition and all lyrics are provided. All songs are taught by ear.
Bring a cup for tea break. Tea, coffee and biscuits included in price.
Suggested cost £5; if this is too much for you, let me (Una) know and we can arrange something else.
