Additional information

I’m a natural voice choir and workshop leader based in Perth and Kinross. I love arranging for specific choirs, getting to know my singers and their unique voices and styles, creating beautiful balanced programmes for each rehearsal that feel complete as well as leaving folk wanting more! My work is less performance-based, more about circle singing, developing confidence and sound, and the joy of unwinding from life’s stresses in song. I aim to be smiley, encouraging and welcoming to all, no matter how skilled or not a singer thinks they are!

I’m also an instrumentalist (piano, cello, violin, guitar), arranger, singer-songwriter and  early stage ‘active music’ specialist. I’m the founder-songleader of Cantie Choir in Milnathort, and an occasional tutor with Earnsong (Comrie) and Just Singin’ (Birnam), as well as Leven, Carse and Horsecross Voices (Perth and Kinross)

I’m the founder-director of Priory Farm Music Camp which is a residential summer music school for young people, offering choir as well as instrumental group experiences to beginners up to advanced players age 8-16 in a campsite and forest setting. This rustic landscape is where I found my feet as natural voice choir leader, shedding formalities and expectations and just enjoying the song, letting everyone shine together rather than ranking singers according to skills and strengths.

Discovering the NVN was like validation – that such a thing exists gave my style of song leading a name. The Natural Voice ethos is absolutely in line with my ideals and aspirations as a leader – celebrating everyone and being committed to best practice, socially, environmentally and culturally.

Cantie Choir
Description

A fun and quirky choir in the beautiful and environmentally active village of Milnathort, next to Loch Leven, about 40 mins north of Edinburgh. With a primary school in the village there is a good quota of school parents in the choir, giving it an almost youthful demographic! Led by Adelaide Carlow and co-founded and directed by Fiona Ferrier who is a local theatre-maker and musician.

Session times
