Hi my name is Tanya. I have been leading community choirs that are open to all who love to sing, in Mid & South Wales for over 15 years and currently lead the :

Alive & Kickin’ Choir Brecon, Uplift Singers Brecon, Merthyr Aloud World Music Choir,  Whiterose Singers New Tredegar,  Can Y Fenni Abergavenny

I am a classically trained musician and a singer songwriter but as a choir leader I trained as a Natural Voice Practitioner and I am firmly rooted in the networks philosophy of singing for all, opening the body and voice to create your most relaxed, natural voice and incorporating world music songs into our repertoire. I teach songs ranging from world music to original to popular and all our choirs are a friendly and welcoming group of singers.

We often perform in both smaller and high profile settings. I often bring  together the 5 choirs (5 Alive Choir) to sing as a mass choir such as at our recent main stage concert at the ‘In It Together Festival’ Margam Park and our up and coming concert at The Usk Choir Festival. 

• Choir days & times
  Alive & Kickin’ Community Choir meet on Mondays from 7 – 9 pm at The Muse on Glamorgan St
• Uplift Singers meet on Tuesdays from 12-1.15 pm at Theatr Brycheiniog
• Merthyr Aloud meet on Friday mornings from 10.15-12.15 pm at The Zoar Chapel Merthyr Tydfil
• Whiterose Singers meet on Fridays from 1.15 -2.30 pm at the Whiterose Resource Centre, New Tredegar
• Can Y Fenni meet on Tuesday from 7-9 pm in Abergavenny. I lead every 2/3 weeks as they have a rotation of choir leaders.
