Additional information

Philippa believes making music with your community is a birthright and a joyful act of connection.  She teaches singing the way she learned it from many wonderful song sharers, folk singers and vocal coaches. Philippa teaches by ear, seeking an emotional and physical connection to the music and uses tried and tested practices that help to free the voice.  Philippa is also a nature connection guide and always infuses her song sharing with invitations to witness the seasons and sing with the more than human world.

Philippa enjoys writing her own song arrangements and directs the Birch Tree Folk Choir in Dorking, a choir dedicated to wellbeing, connecting with our land and our ancestors through folk songs. Philippa has also been the musical director of Shakti Sings Choir,  two Singing Mamas choirs in East Surrey, a Singing for Wellbeing choir at Sutton Women’s Centre and also runs bespoke singing workshops for companies and groups. Philippa loves creative collaborations and recently led singing (as well as performing as a storyteller herself) with the Storytelling Choir in the Brighton Fringe Show Rewilding Cinderella.
