Additional information

I run community choirs in the heart of Somerset. I come from a theatre background, having trained in London and New York as an actor, and worked as an actor for many years. I am also a classically trained soprano and sing with Rolling Harmony vocal group based in Bath.

I have always loved singing and feel very lucky to be able to share what I love.  I joined a community choir myself at a time in my life when things felt uncertain and, although I had been involved in music all my life, it was then that I discovered the power of singing together in a group, unaccompanied, for the pure joy and fun of it, and how transforming that can be. I completed my Natural Voice Practitioner training in 2016 with Frankie Armstrong, Sarah Harman and Darien Pritchard.

In the last few years I have been delighted to be working with Somerset Wildlife Trust, Blackdown and Quantock AONBs and Somerset Health and Wellbeing Network running singing walks in the beautiful Somerset countryside, and running outdoor voice workshops for people who are experiencing stress or trauma, and specialised workshops for adults with profound and severe learning difficulties.  I also run residential Women’s Voice Camps in Sweden with fellow singer Kajsa Norrby at The Långrådna Culture Centre, Valdemarsvik, Sweden.

Vocal health and singing for wellbeing is something I am really passionate about.  I, myself, have congenital lung issues, so I know how valuable singing for lung health, as well as our general wellbeing, can be.  I did my Singing for Lung Health training in London before lockdown and more recently in 2023 I completed the Vocal Health First Aid Practitioners Certificate training with Vocal Health Education.  And in 2024 I trained with Stephen King at The Voice Care Centre, Devon, to qualify as a  Vocal Massage Therapist and completed The Estill Voice Training Level 1 & 2 with Charlotte Xerri at Mountview Theatre School, London.
