Additional information

I began to develop my song-leading skills under the expert guidance of fellow NVN member Faith Watson and have been part of the Shylarks  (Old Trafford)  Teaching Team since 2007 .  I’ve led various choirs over the years (including Bury Acapeelers – as Deputy MD til 2017; Quarternotes; Urmston U3A Choir , and from 2013 to 2025 I led Bury (later Prestwich) ‘Singing for Fun’.

I now co-lead Shylarks on alternate weeks with Annelie Leinhos, with whom I’ve also led one-off workshops and raised over £800 for Sing for Water in July 2025

I believe singing can be a profoundly spiritual experience without having to be ‘religious’ and I teach a  range of song styles, from fun rounds and rousing songs to gentle meditative ones. I try to make my singers feel relaxed and have been told I’m a very patient teacher!
