Community Choirs for both mixed and women only- daytime and/or evening
I have been running choirs for all voices since I moved to Devon in 1990. I teach a wide variety of songs and run groups that cater for a range of abilities, from folk and pop to Balkan and South African.
I have a music diploma from the OU and arrange some songs for choirs; I also use traditional and contemporary arrangements that allow and encourage singers to sight read if wanted as all music is taught by ear.
This friendly women-only choir meet for the joy of singing and well being- enjoying rounds and 3 part harmony songs from around the world.
The tea break enables socialising and singers generally sit to sing in this group.
The choir perform once or twice a year.
Exeter GH is a large mixed choir singing a wide range of traditional and modern songs in 4 part harmony. These hard working and fun filled sessions have held a strong group of singers for many years, with 25-30 attending each evening. We perform at local festivals occasionally and the focus is on making beautiful and uplifting music and enjoying each session.
