I am honoured to be taking over Shreen Harmony Community Choir in Mere from September 2026.
I went to a Steiner school and have always had music in my life, singing in choirs throughout school, college, University and beyond. I started playing the recorder around age 6 and took it to degree level, I also learnt piano from age 11. I did a degree in Music at the University of Bristol, graduating in 2001. I have been teaching dance since the age of 16, trained as a Yoga teacher in 2010 and have been leading singing groups and small choirs on and off for much of my adult life. I have taught Singing circles at Dance Camp Wales and Family Camp for several years running. I co-ran a small singing group with Nick Petts for a year or so in Frome. I then took on Frome Community Choir from Nickomo and Rasullah from 2023 until it stopped 2 years later in 2025. I am honoured to be taking over the Community Choir in Mere – Shreen Harmony from September 2026. I enjoy singing Barbershop songs with a small group of singers in Frome.
Shreen Harmony were started by fantastic choir leader and music practitioner Helen Porter way back in 1998. Since 2006 the choir has been run by Caroline Radcliffe until July 2026. Lucy Goldsack will be running the choir from September 2026. We sing a variety of musical genres from soul and pop to folk, classical, and songs from other countries, in English and other languages. All songs are unaccompanied and taught by ear. Our sessions are fun and informal, but we also strive to sing to a good standard, and take great pleasure in performing at various events in the local area throughout the year.
Thursdays from 7-8.30pm
