Marlborough Community Choir - a friendly, relaxed, environment open to anyone who enjoys singing

Additional information

There are lots of musical opportunities in Marlborough. I am privileged to conduct the Marlborough Community Choir and to offer private one-to-one teaching (singing, piano and music theory).

I am a classically trained singer and pianist, who enjoys performing and teaching music of many different styles: e.g. folk, musical theatre, pop, spirituals, classical.

I have been teaching students on a one-to-one basis in Marlborough since moving here in 2014.  I teach people of all ages.  Being able to tailor each lesson to a specific student’s needs allows flexibility to focus on technique, repertoire, well-being, emotion and/or performance psychology.   There are so many different elements to making music.  To truly unlock our potential, we need to spend time learning and embracing all that music can offer us, and all that we can offer music.

I started working with the Marlborough Community Choir in Nov 2021.  It is a wonderfully relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and it is a real joy for me to be a part of the group.  Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to come along, however experienced or inexperienced they are.  Word sheets and/or sheet music are available, alongside audio tracks.  We learn at our own pace, and we strive to perform to the best of our ability.  If you think you’d like to join us, take a look at our website: www.marlboroughcommunitychoir.co.uk  We’d love to meet you.

Marlborough Community Choir
Description

Marlborough Community Choir relaunched with Emma as its new leader in November 2021.

Marlborough Community Choir is the perfect choice if you:

  • want to sing songs in a wide range of styles, e.g. classical, folk, jazz, gospel, musical theatre, pop, world,
  • want to sing without being judged,
  • want to sing in group where plenty of practice resources are available to support you.

We welcome singers who are looking to join a choir for the first time – there are no auditions, experienced singers, singers who can or can’t read music, and singers who learn music by ear.

The 1st session of each term is a taster session which you can come along to for free to see if you feel comfortable with the group and would like to join the choir. If you can’t come to this, then get in touch.
