Sing Your Way

Location

Petersfield, Hampshire

Description

We are not a choir, rather an informal and friendly group which meets on the first and third Sundays of each month. There’s no requirement to come every time, fine to drop in when you can. We sing songs you may know already, seasonal songs and simple rounds, using word sheets but no printed music.

No auditions, no experience necessary, no sheet music, no pressure, no commitment, just a chance for us to get together and sing. Singing is embedded in the traditions of every human culture. Our ancestors sang together to celebrate, commiserate, resolve disputes and strengthen bonds.

The singing sessions last for one hour and are free of charge, although donations towards room hire and running costs are welcome. It’s fine to move around or hum along or listen or harmonise or improvise – anything goes.

I look forward to singing with you!

Session times

Sunday mornings 11-12am and one-off events

Please ask me if there’s anything more you want to know. I’m also involved with Creative Voices for Peace which holds events at which people of all faiths and none share songs, music, chants, poems and other cultural forms of expression, with the aim of bringing us closer together and promoting peace.

In addition, I offer Song Baths from 7-8pm on the last Friday of the month at the Centre of Complementary Medicine in Petersfield. Come and listen to gentle songs accompanied by shruti box/guitar, interspersed with hopeful poems and a little silence.  All you need to do is get comfortable, close your eyes and let your body absorb the sounds, words and melodies.

All questions welcome:  zoeflint11@gmail.com
