Mahdia Daulne is coming to Shropshire to run a weekend workshop!
Mahdia is a consummate workshop leader, who is originally from the Congo, but was bought up in and is now from Belgium.
She sang with acapella group ‘Zap Mama’ and has a deep and rich understanding of Congolese polyphony. She shares her fabulously funky songs with humour and clarity.
This workshop is aimed at people who have intermediate and above singing experience. The rhythms are complex and this particular workshop is not suitable for beginners. Mahdia does run excellent workshops that are accessible to all, but this workshop is primarily for NVN leaders and other vocal practitioners. Please contact Roxane if you are in doubt.
THE SCHEDULE
Saturday 14th June 10.30-5
Sunday 15th June 10.30-4
ACCOMMODATION
Most of us are camping/glamping/staying in lovely pods at the Lowerhill campsite.
The campsite is not that near the village hall, but it does provide an affordable wide range of accommodation options, from cheapo tent pitches, to poshpods with hot-tubs! Most, but by no means all of us, are staying here. It adds to the social aspect of this particular event.
Some folks are staying in Hotels in Shrewsbury, some in BnBs in Church Stretton.
Lift shares are arranged where helpful (eg if you are arriving by public transport). And Mahdia is staying in Shrewsbury, so there is scope for a lift from there each day if you prefer a town to a field!! Please book your own accommodation.
