Songsmiths with Jo Foster and Kirsty Martin!

14 Mar 2026

13.00—18.00

Carnegie Library Hub, London SE24

Join choral composer and workshop leader Kirsty Martin for our brand new Songsmiths Workshop series for 2026! Kirsty teams up with some of the leading Natural Voice choral composers in the UK today for a series of workshops where you’ll be taught hot-off-the-press new choral songs…by the composers themselves!

For this Songsmiths, Kirsty will be joined by Jo Foster. Jo Foster is a dynamic choir leader, singer and composer who blends world music, jazz and theatre to create uplifting and memorable singing experiences. With over 25 years of performing and community music making, she continues to bring people together through rich harmony, creativity and joy.

The idea for Songsmiths is wholly inspired by Rosie Sleightholme’s Saturday Sings sessions – a huge thank you to Rosie for being so supportive and generous with her advice!

The adult fee for each session is a sliding scale from £50 – £35. This ensures that both Kirsty and her guest composer are fairly paid for their time (covering preparation, admin, composing, travel, and the workshop itself). To support this, there are three payment tiers for adult tickets:

  • Supporter – £50
  • General – £45
  • Low Income – £35

As well as this, we offer a £10 ticket to Young’ns from 13-25 years old and anyone even younger singers under 13 can come free with a singing adult!

If you’re in a position to contribute a little extra, the Supporter rate is hugely appreciated and helps to balance out the reduced Low Income places.

We also offer a couple of free CREW places on each workshop. This is to help with the welcome desk, the coffee breaks and the clearing up at the end. Please let us know if you’d like to apply for one for any of the workshops.
