Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, you will be able to narrow down your search by postcode (or by zooming in on the map.)

If you are searching for a member who is outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Join Stroud Folk Choir as we sing rousing shanties, joyous celebration songs, haunting laments and catchy ditties. Traditional and contemporary folk songs from our own fair isles and from other cultures around the world, taught in 3 and 4 part harmony with many original arrangements

There’s a place for you in the choir, regardless of your singing ability. There are no auditions as we believe singing is for everyone.

We’ll be running on an open basis over the summer, so if you’d like to come along for a sing then please do join us. We’ll be closing in again in September ahead of our upcoming gig at The Long Table.

Sweet Harmony Community Choir

Location

English Congregational Church schoolroom, Lammas St, Carmarthen SA31 3AL

Description

Sweet Harmony was born in April 2014. There are usually around 50 members, some who have been part of the group since the beginning and others who have joined us along the way.

We sing in harmony and a capella – without instrumental accompaniment – embracing a broad spectrum of music: Blues, gospel, funk, pop and folk from all over the world, including songs from right here in Wales. There is no need to read music – all songs are taught by ear

The singers are very warm and welcome new members.

Absolutely everyone is welcome;  humans of all ages, genders, racial heritage and levels of musical experience.

We have taster sessions at the start of each term and then people commit for the whole term. This really strengthens regularity of attendance and allows us to go deeply into the repertoire without having to reteach the parts every week. Members have access to recordings of harmony parts so they can practise between sessions.

Our main emphasis is on enjoying the learning and singing of gorgeous songs together, indulging in the pure deliciousness of creating mouthwatering harmonies, but we also like sharing our repertoire with others. We often do a performance at the end of term and sometimes sing at other events. Our gigs have included the following events/ venues: The National Botanical Gardens, The Narberth A Capella Voice Festival, Carmarthen Inter-faith day and Carmarthen White Ribbon Walk.

Session times

Wednesdays 6.30 - 8.30pm

Swindon Community Choir

Location

Central Community Centre, Emlyn Square, Swindon, SN1 5BP

Description

Swindon Community Choir was started in 2000 as the Swindon Scratch Choir in the hayloft at Lower Shaw Farm, West Swindon, by Linda Lee.  Linda had a dream to create a real community choir in Swindon – an all-inclusive choir that anyone could join to experience the joy of singing with others in spine-tingling harmony!

How many people were told as a child at school that they couldn’t sing?  We set out to prove this wrong!  Singing is good for our mental and physical health and creates a sense of belonging to a community.

We teach the songs in 2, 3 or 4 part harmony, taught simultaneously by three or four song leaders in small groups.  You choose which group your voice is most comfortable with.  When the parts have been taught, everyone gets back together to sing the complete song and make a fantastic sound.

We sing mainly for the joy and fun of it, and we do occasional performances that people join in if they want – no obligation!
