Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, you will be able to narrow down your search by postcode (or by zooming in on the map.)

If you are searching for a member who is outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Sing Your Heart Out

Location

Across Norfolk

Description

Sing Your Heart Out provides free singing workshops for mental wellbeing.

[The following text is taken from the SYHO website]

Our workshop sessions are led by professional singing tutors. We aren’t a choir and we don’t put on performances. We simply enjoy singing together, and we understand that sometimes not everybody feels well, and we accept and support people.

Our sessions aim to help people in all sorts of ways, SYHO participants have said they feel that it has improved their confidence, reduced stress and given a space where others understand how you feel. Sometimes a person may not feel like singing and that’s okay.

We welcome anyone over 18 who is experiencing or has experienced mental health difficulties, to offer a strong space of understanding and a sense of togetherness through singing. We welcome carers, family, friends, any support workers, staff and indeed anyone who wants to support their mental wellbeing (or simply likes to sing!)

SYHO is free to take part, though we welcome donations if you can afford it.

Sessions run Monday to Thursday across Norfolk. See website for full details

Singing Assembly Morning Choir

Location

The Old Schoolhouse, Hertford Street, Cowley, OX4 3AJ

Description

Whether you’re an experienced singer, a little rusty, lapsed from formal choirs or looking to learn something new for a hobby and activity, singing ticks all the well-being boxes and helps create a sense of community.

All songs will be taught clearly by ear in a non-judgemental way. A friendly and inclusive group. Come ready to learn and laugh whilst making music together!

Repertoire:

Starting with breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, fun games and ditties, this will lead on to simple chants and short songs and rounds, followed by unaccompanied songs from oral traditions in 2- or 3-part harmony. There might be groovy gospel, folky fun, wonderful world music and sing-a-long sillies, plus special pieces tailored for non-performing mixed ability choirs.

Whilst it’s great to build skills , many songs will be achievable in a single session, whilst others will need longer to learn and remember. Something for everyone.

All songs will be taught clearly in acapella. There are no stipulations. You do not need to read music.

This friendly and inclusive choir promises to enhance your week. Just walking through the door is your audition!

Pay-what-you-like between £5 and £8 by card on the door.

New term begins January 10th 2024.
