Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, click on “By location” and select “United Kingdom”, and you will then be able to narrow down your search by postcode. Alternatively you can zoom in on the map.

If you are searching for a choir outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Sing Your Heart Out

Location

Across Norfolk

Description

Sing Your Heart Out provides free singing workshops for mental wellbeing.

[The following text is taken from the SYHO website]

Our workshop sessions are led by professional singing tutors. We aren’t a choir and we don’t put on performances. We simply enjoy singing together, and we understand that sometimes not everybody feels well, and we accept and support people.

Our sessions aim to help people in all sorts of ways, SYHO participants have said they feel that it has improved their confidence, reduced stress and given a space where others understand how you feel. Sometimes a person may not feel like singing and that’s okay.

We welcome anyone over 18 who is experiencing or has experienced mental health difficulties, to offer a strong space of understanding and a sense of togetherness through singing. We welcome carers, family, friends, any support workers, staff and indeed anyone who wants to support their mental wellbeing (or simply likes to sing!)

SYHO is free to take part, though we welcome donations if you can afford it.

Session times

Sessions run Monday to Thursday across Norfolk. See website for full details

Sing Your Way

Location

Centre of Complementary Medicine, 13b Dragon Street, Petersfield GU31 4JN

Description

We are not a choir but an informal and friendly group which meets on the first and third Sundays of each month. There’s no requirement to come every time, it’s fine to drop in when you can. We sing songs you may well know already, seasonal songs and simple rounds, folk songs and songs inspired by nature/culture.

No experience necessary, no audition, no sheet music, no pressure, no commitment, no such thing as a wrong note, just a space for us to get together and sing (or hum, or tap). Singing together can reduce stress, lift the mood and cultivate a sense of community and connection. We are an open and inclusive group, whatever your age, sound, background, identity or experience, you are welcome.

The singing sessions last for one hour and are free of charge (donations towards room hire and running costs are welcome but optional). It’s fine to move around or stop and listen or harmonise or improvise – anything goes.

For more information, please email zoeflint11@gmail.com
