Additional information

I lead choirs in South Wales and singing workshops, holidays & training courses internationally. As a pioneer of Arts for Health & Wellbeing, one of my favourite recent projects has been a choir with a mental health focus for veterans, ex service men and women of all ages and their families. Songwriting was an important element of this project. The project culminated in an album, ‘A Space in the Woods’, featuring songs penned and sung by veterans  which is due to be released in 2026.

My local community choirs are non-audition and open to all. We learn beautiful a cappella harmony songs focusing on such themes as connection, resilience, purpose and love. I am currently leading Côr y Bont in Pontypridd, a Welsh language folk choir singing both contemporary and traditional Welsh folk songs. This is a great way for fluent Welsh speakers to come together with complete beginners who are familiarising themselves with the language through song.

I also specialise in facilitating group vocal improvisation and sometimes offer workshops for developing these skills.

I am a singer, musician & composer, I have many songs and arrangements for community choirs available and I perform with the feisty a cappella folk trio, ‘Bread & Roses’ and storytelling duo, ‘Adlais’.

I have worked as a trainer and a mentor for many years now and am available for one-to-one mentoring either in person or online.

As well as harmony singing and vocal improvisation, I am passionate about folk, jazz, storytelling, dance & movement, theatre, the use of the arts for health and well-being and for bringing people together on the streets.  I strive to use the tools of my trade to support a restoration of balance and equilibrium in our precious world.

Côr y Bont
Description

Côr y Bont is Pontypridd’s very own Welsh Folk Choir.

The choir is suitable for Welsh language learners, Welsh speakers and non-Welsh speakers alike. Pauline leads the choir bi-lingually in her fun and accessible way so that singers can both learn and build bridges to the language as well as to some beautiful Welsh language songs.

All songs will be taught by ear. Most will be in Pauline’s beautiful a cappella harmony arrangements or traditional a cappella harmony arrangements.

We meet in blocks of 5 – 6 sessions at Clwb y Bont, an iconic Welsh Language bar and music venue, each block leading to informal performances in and around town.

Session times

Tuesdays 7 - 8.30pm
