The Wolf Pack is a nurturing women’s circle that offers a moment in your month where the pace can slow down and you can be the one being held. For each of these uniquely crafted circles I create a bespoke ritual to support the theme that we are working with each month. More often than not, you will have something to take home with you in which to root the work and the songs held in our time together. Each circle will be a bit different, but will always involve a gentle check in, some singing and some time in ritual or quiet with blankets and relaxing oils for your hands. This friendly, time-limited choir meets for 10 sessions every autumn. It’s open to all and takes place in The Makerspace at Portland Works. This is a 150- year -old industrial building and the birthplace of stainless steel. It’s still in use by local makers and craftspeople and is located in Little Sheffield, just behind London Rd. The Makerspace is the room where the buffer girls used to work and now it’s a beautifully restored space with lots of ventilation and good acoustics for singing.

Threading Voices

Your voice. Our harmony.

Welcome to Threading Voices. This is an invitation to step away from the day-to-day and immerse yourself in singing in harmony with other adults.

Humans have always sung. To celebrate, to grieve, to bring rhythm and joy to work, to connect and to belong. There is something about singing together that can bring us back into the present and remind us what it feels like to be part of something.

And there is a particular joy in weaving our voices together to hear something emerge that none of us could have created alone.

We gather in a circle and learn songs by ear, with a particular focus on learning and building three- and four-part harmonies. We draw from different styles, cultures and traditions, including folk, gospel and songs inspired by nature, connection and community.

There’s no need to read music, no audition and no pressure to perform. Come as you are. Bring the voice you have today.
