Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, click on “By location” and select “United Kingdom”, and you will then be able to narrow down your search by postcode. Alternatively you can zoom in on the map.

If you are searching for a choir outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

West Suffolk Singing Mamas

Location

Joy Connection, 24B Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds IP33 1UZ

Description

West Suffolk Singing Mamas meets in Bury St Edmunds on a Tuesday afternoon. While the group has been set up with new mums in mind, it is a group where all women are welcome (you don’t have to be a mama to join!) All songs are simple and taught by ear. We meet for an hour of singing, followed by half an hour to catch up and grab a cuppa together!

Bumps, babies and toddlers up to 2 are welcome, and benefit from the soothing songs and co-regulation of the grown-ups, plus they get to hear their favourite sound in the world – their mum’s voice!

We sing simple harmony songs and rounds, singing together for connection, co-regulation and wellbeing.

Singing Mamas is a national non-profit, initially set up to work with perinatal women to support their mental health and wellbeing through singing.

Wild Chorus

Location

Friends’ Meeting House, Kirkgate, Cockermouth CA13 9PH

Description

Wild Chorus is about connection: with each other; with our collective creativity; with audiences; with, in and through nature in the promotion of living more sustainably – freeing our voices to sing together in wild places!

Inspired by the wildness of the natural world, Wild Chorus is a performance choir led by Dave Camlin. By singing together in nature, we hope to promote the importance of wild places for the biodiversity and health of our planet.

Wild Chorus is a relaxed and friendly performance choir, for singers with some experience, and who are looking for a fun vocal challenge with like-minded singers. The emphasis is on having fun making a good sound together, singing material from rock, pop and folk traditions from around the world. You’re expected to be able to:

  • Commit to weekly rehearsal and personal practice in order to learn repertoire
  • Adjust your voice to blend with the group
  • Sing confidently and accurately
  • Follow a musical score.

During weekly rehearsals, we warm our bodies and voices up, and learn songs to perform as well as simply singing for pleasure. We learn repertoire mainly by ear, although lyrics, scores and rehearsal MP3s are all available to help you learn. You don’t need to be able to ‘sight read’ notation, but you do need to be able (or willing to learn!) to follow it.

Session times

Tuesdays 19:00 - 21:00 (term time)

Wild Goose Choir

Location

South Brent Village Hall, Station Approach, South Brent, Devon, TQ10 9JL

Description

Wild Goose Choir is a mixed voice, folk-based community choir. In the sessions, we learn a range of material within the folk canon, from the very traditional, to the modern-day. There is no audition process and absolute beginner choir singers are very welcome. An ability to sing in tune is vital, as is an openness to learn new vocal techniques. We seek to perform at least twice a year, showcasing the songs and arrangements we have been learning. Therefore, a commitment to regular rehearsals and a willingness to perform is essential. Songs will be taught by ear initially but sheet music with all parts are also available for you to use in sessions and take away for practise.

Wild Goose Choir aims to create a safe, encouraging, warm community where members enjoy the many benefits that group singing can bring, whilst also learning and improving their individual vocal techniques and abilities.

Session times

Tuesday evenings in term-time from 7-9pm
