Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, click on “By location” and select “United Kingdom”, and you will then be able to narrow down your search by postcode. Alternatively you can zoom in on the map.

If you are searching for a choir outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Singing Assembly Morning Choir

Location

Florence park Community Centre. Cornwallis Road, Oxford OX4 3NH

Description

Whether you’re an experienced singer, a little rusty, lapsed from formal choirs or looking to learn something new for a hobby and activity, singing ticks all the well-being boxes and helps create a sense of connection and well-being.
Session starts with breathing and vocal warm-ups, leading on to simple chants and short songs and rounds followed by unaccompanied songs from oral traditions in two or three-part harmony. There might be groovy gospel, folky fun, wonderful world music and sing-a-long sillies plus special pieces tailored for non-performing mixed ability choirs.
Whilst it’s great to build skills , many songs will be achievable in a single session whilst others might need longer to learn. Something for everyone.
All songs will be taught clearly by ear. You do not need to read music and it’s just for fun.
This friendly choir promises to enhance your week.
Just walking through the door is your audition!
Fees are paid by card on the door. Choose what you can honestly afford between £6.00 and £9.00 for a one and a half hour session. No judgement.
Please arrive in good time.
N.B. Access to Florence Park Community Centre is from the Florence Park Road end of Cornwallis Road NOT from Iffley Road end which has cameras in place.

Singing for Fun Exmouth

Location

Exmouth Town Football Club, Southern Road, Exmouth EX8 3EE (includes disabled access)

Description

Singing for Fun Exmouth is a FUN harmony singing group led by Sarah Pennington, where the only criterion to join is that you enjoy singing!  All songs will be taught by ear, so you don’t need to read music, and the emphasis will be on getting to know our voices, exploring the wonderful harmonies we can create together, and building a community of song.  Singing with other people is proven to lift the spirits and increase wellbeing, it is now recommended for all sorts of reasons, eg mental health, lung health, isolation…

Sarah is a highly experienced and enthusiastic choirleader who inspires confidence and trust in her singers.  She has been leading people into harmony for 20 years, she has led Quay Note Singers in Topsham for 12 years now, and also used to lead a choir in Plymouth.

There is no requirement to make a commitment to come regularly, you can pay per session and drop in whenever you can make it.  So you can fit singing into your life, even if you are self-employed, or you have caring responsibilities.

There is a tea break with refreshments provided (including vegan and gluten-free options, and organic/fairtrade where possible).

The fees include a low-income rate and you can choose to pay per session or for a half-term block.  Contact Sarah for term dates.

FEEDBACK
“Thank you, Sarah, for all that you do for our singing group.  It is such an enjoyable 2 hours and I always go home relaxed and happy (even grinning!!).  With all the ups and downs of health, family and world problems, it helps in so many ways, as well as enjoying being part of a group which with your expertise and encouragement produces some lovely songs. Thank you.”
