Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, click on “By location” and select “United Kingdom”, and you will then be able to narrow down your search by postcode. Alternatively you can zoom in on the map.

If you are searching for a choir outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Singing for Hypertension – Bromley

Location

St Mark's Church Hall, Westmoreland Road, Bromley BR2 OTB

Description

Classes will be online and in person in Bromley from Sept 25- July 26

18th Sept -18th Dec (break for half term)

Medising recently ran a pilot of singing groups for people with hypertension funded by Bromley Council.  Singing has been shown to help lower blood pressure as well as having other health benefits. All sessions were free and either online or in person. Results have shown that for 89 percent of participants their blood pressure was lower at the midpoint and end of course.

Some feedback from our participants:

  • I have been surprised at how much exercise this involved… I’ve used muscles in my stomach I didn’t know I had! Nicola is a very engaging teacher and very relaxed about our attempts at the exercises! I’m really grateful to have been included on the course as I happen to have been having an extreme stressful time over the last month with illness in the family. This has helped me a great deal. Thank you.
  • New ideas, socialising, having an event to get out for, supportive cheerful leaders.
  • Thank you. It’s been great and I have seen some of the lowest BP readings for a long time..Nicola is so warm and welcoming and I always left the session feeling relaxed and calm.
